Indie Rock music is once again alive and kicking, with some of Brisbane’s newest and most talented acts playing at the Zoo on July 12th for Indie Rock Party. This is a special occasion not to be missed; with a few of the bands launching a release…

Indie pop band Diamond City, fronted by Natalie Repetto will be playing their first show with the current lineup, ahead of a string of gigs around Brisbane to follow.

Next onstage is Toowoomba pop rock act Project 62, and pop rock act, The Thrill, who after have received great radio support from single ‘Creep In’ are following up with a new single to be released on the night.

Brisbane hard rock heavyweights, having been away from the scene for a while, Cause In Affect, play their first show ever at the Zoo, and launch brand new single ‘Nauthiz’.

Be sure to stick around to catch headline act Vivvid who have been around a while, are releasing their latest EP, produced by Nathan Woodrow, will be closing out the night with their hard rock tunes! This is an amazing bill of bands, one you don’t want to miss.

This show is set to be a sell out, and definitely not to be missed.

The Shannon's building on Ann St was built in 1924 -1925 and designed by renowned Brisbane architect E.P.Trewern. The building contributed to the 1920's commercial streetscape in this area of Fortitude Valley.

Fast forward 40 years...

11th Dec 1992, 711 Ann St transformed yet again - into The Zoo, opening it's doors as a b.y.o cafe and pool hall. Joc & C, the owner/managers, have poured all their considerable energy and love into this place, and with the sheer force of their indefatigueable wills, have created a fantastic cult venue that has hosted the likes of The Pixies, Gomez, Tortoise, Trans Am, Mogwai, Nick Cave and the Dirty Three, Ben Harper, Silverchair, Regurgitator, Spiderbait, Powderfinger, Emilaini Torrini and hundreds - if not thousands - of other local, national and international artists and special events.
